What ages is Superspace suitable for?
We designed Superspace to appeal to a wide range of ages from 3 years right through to 10 years and above (even adults!).
Because of the endless range of creative builds and structures possible from forts/playhouses, spaceships and boats through to shops/cafes and stages for plays and puppet shows there are really no age limits!
Can you use Superspace outdoors?
Occasional, supervised outdoor use on clean, hard surfaces is generally fine. However, soil and ground surfaces can contain iron particles that may be attracted to the magnets, leading to scratching or scuffing over time. Regular or prolonged outdoor use, especially exposure to moisture, dirt, or direct sunlight, will cause the materials to degrade more quickly. For longevity and best performance, using and storing Superspace indoors whenever possible is recommended.
What are the Superspace panels made from?
Superspace panels are made using a really neat material we call Eco Felt, which is produced from recycled plastic bottles!
In fact, there is the equivalent of 130 x 330ml bottles in every 22 panel Big Set.
This makes the panels hard wearing, durable and easy to wipe clean (we recommend simply using a damp cloth).
What are the sizes of each of the panels?
The thickest part of each panel is around 1/2 inch (1.2cm). Each side of the squares, squares with windows, and triangles measures 20 inches (50cm). The long sides of the rectangles and trapezoid measure 40 inches (100cm) and the short side is 20 inches (50cm).
What colours does Superspace come in?
We are currently offering 7 colours: orange, turquoise, blue, charcoal, and pine green. Our newest colors are Sand Dune and Marshmallow. If you click into the product information, you can see images of the different colours.
What are the dimensions and weight of the largest box (The Big Set)?
Bundles come in multiple boxes. The largest box is also "The Big Set". The packing box dimensions are L41 x W20.5 x H7.5 inches, and it weighs 27 lbs.
What are the sizes of each of the panels?

How durable is Superspace?
Superspace is designed to be very durable and to perform well in active classrooms and shared learning environments. Durability is influenced by how it is used. Larger groups and older children naturally increase overall wear and tear. The primary structural components to be mindful of are the bamboo rods that support and stabilize builds. In group settings, shoes-off play is strongly encouraged when possible. Directly stepping on grouped panels laid flat on the floor is the most common cause of bamboo rod breaks. Clear signage, defined play rules, and simple setup guidance go a long way in increasing the longevity of your set. If a bamboo rod becomes damaged, replacements are available by emailing john@getsuperspace.com.
How many children can use Superspace at one time?
Superspace is ideal for small group play of 2 to 4 children, which naturally encourages collaboration, negotiation, and cooperative problem-solving. Larger sets can support bigger groups or parallel play across multiple build zones.
How much space is needed to use Superspace in the classroom?
A standard learning center footprint of approximately 6x6 feet is sufficient for a small group of 2 to 4 children. Panels can also be used on tabletops for smaller builds. The system scales up easily for larger spaces.
Is Superspace child safety certified?
Yes, Superspace has passed the official children's safety standards for the UK and USA (UKCA and CE) along with all other jurisdictions we've tested in.
Due to the magnets, we take child safety very seriously. Our patented secure magnet casing system means that even if the casing is removed from the panel the magnet will be very hard to remove.
However, the magnets would be dangerous if swallowed.
We encourage educators to check their Superspace often for loose or broken parts and take panels with broken parts away from children.
Is the magnet system safe for children with sensory sensitivities?
Yes. The cylindrical magnet design eliminates the pinch risk common in other magnetic construction toys. There are no small loose parts, and the magnetic connection force is strong enough to be satisfying but manageable for children with varied motor profiles.
Are the magnets dangerous?
Neodymium magnets (or “Rare Earth”) have an inherent risk associated with them. However these magnets have been evaluated and passed by our stringent safety and quality control tests. There is no risk of a magnet being exposed to a persons skin.
Those with electronic medical implants and pacemakers are advised to keep their distance from strong magnets. Magnets can also affect diabetic pumps if in close contact.
Uses for Superspace
Does Superspace provide sensory input for children with sensory processing needs?
Yes. Superspace offers rich tactile input through its eco-felt panel surfaces and satisfying magnetic connection feedback. The construction process also provides proprioceptive engagement through pushing, pulling, and assembling panels, making it a strong addition to sensory-supportive play environments.
How does Superspace support fine motor development?
Connecting and disconnecting magnetic panels requires hand strength, grip, and bilateral coordination. These are core fine motor skills targeted in occupational therapy for early childhood. The system provides graded resistance appropriate for a range of ability levels.
Can Superspace be used in a preschool or pre-K classroom?
Absolutely. Superspace is particularly well-suited for preschool and pre-K environments. It fits naturally in a block or construction center and supports the kind of self-directed, open-ended play that early childhood educators prioritize.
Do ocuupational therapists recommend Superspace?
Superspace has been used by OTs in clinic and school-based settings to support fine motor, sensory, and social-emotional goals. Superspace welcomes conversations with clinicians interested in evaluating the product for their practice.
Is Superspace appropriate for children with autism spectrum disorder?
Superspace can be a strong fit for many children on the autism spectrum. The predictable magnetic connection system, clear visual structure, and open-ended format support both sensory regulation and independent exploration. Clinical judgment is always recommended in matching materials to individual needs.
How does Superspace support social-emotional learning goals?
Collaborative building with Superspace naturally develops communication, turn-taking, conflict resolution, and shared decision-making. These interactions align with SEL frameworks used in early childhood programs.
Can Superspace be used in a sensory room or therapy clinic?
Yes. Superspace is well-suited for sensory rooms, OT clinics, and therapeutic play spaces. The materials are durable, cleanable, and free of sharp edges or pinch points, meeting the safety expectations of clinical environments.

Can I ship bulk orders to multiple countries?
Yes. Superspace can ship bulk orders to multiple addresses as part of a single order. Contact john@getsuperspace.com with the quantities and destinations and the team will help coordinate the details.
Do you offer discounts for bulk purchases?
Yes, in many cases. Bulk pricing is evaluated on a case-by-case basis depending on factors like current inventory, order size, margins, and timing. Superspace is especially thoughtful about pricing for educational, library, and corporate partners where longer-term or multi-location opportunities may exist. Do you accept purchase orders?
Yes. Schools, libraries, and organizations can submit a purchase order using the PO upload link on the Support page. A downloadable W-9 is also available. For questions about the PO process or assistance, contact john@getsuperspace.com.
Is Superspace eligible for institutional procurement or vendor catalogs?

Cleaning & Maintenance
What cleaning protocols are appropriate in a clinical setting?
Panels can be wiped with a damp cloth and a mild disinfectant solution between client sessions. Avoid soaking or submerging panels. The eco-felt surface is durable and maintains integrity with regular surface cleaning.
How do you clean and santizie the panels?
Superspace is designed for daily use in active classrooms and learning environments. For most spills including paint, food, or marker smudges, mild soap and warm water work well. For routine sanitizing, standard classroom-approved disinfectants are appropriate, including spray cleaners or wipe-style products such as Clorox-type wipes. Allow panels to fully air dry before stacking or storing. Because the embedded magnets are strong, they may occasionally pick up grit or metal debris from the floor. Wipe magnetic contact points regularly and gently clear any buildup along edges with a damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or scrubbers.
Are there tips or suggestions for care and maintenance of the panels?
Superspace's bamboo frames are lightweight but naturally flexible. Over time, especially with frequent use or loose stacking, they may begin to curve slightly. This is just how bamboo behaves and is not a defect, but it can affect how precisely the magnetic panels align. To minimize this: always stack panels neatly with edges aligned, avoid leaning them loosely against a wall or storing in high humidity, and if bending occurs, gently flatten panels under a weighted surface overnight. You may also notice that the cylindrical magnets occasionally become polarized or flipped, meaning they resist rather than attract. This is normal with strong magnets and can usually be fixed by gently rotating the magnet until it clicks into the correct polarity, or pressing the panel flush against another to reset its magnetic orientation. For persistent misalignment, lightly tapping the edges can help realign internal magnets.
Where is the best place to store Superspace?
The best place to store your Superspace set is in the box it arrived in or in a dedicated storage bag, ideally in a cabinet, closet, or other low-light area. Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or UV light can be damaging to the nylon webbing over time. For classroom and shared learning environments, many schools prefer integrated solutions that align with existing furniture, shelving, or mobile carts. What happens if a panel breaks?
Breaks are uncommon, but in active classrooms and group settings, accidents can happen. In most cases, damage is related to the internal bamboo rods that support the panel structure. These rods can be replaced without needing to replace the entire panel, and a short video walks through the replacement process step by step. If a panel is damaged or you are unsure what needs to be replaced, email education@getsuperspace.com. The team will help assess the issue, provide replacement parts if needed, and get your Superspace back in use as quickly as possible.
Curriculum Standards Alignment
Does Superspace align with early learning standards?
Yes. Superspace supports foundational learning domains including spatial reasoning, STEM exploration, social-emotional development, and creative expression. It aligns with NAEYC Developmentally Appropriate Practice guidelines and supports indicators within state early learning standards such as the Georgia Early Learning and Development Standards (GELDS), among others. What curriculum standards can be met through Superspace lesson plans?
Superspace lesson plans and activities can support a wide range of commonly used curriculum standards depending on how they are implemented. Most align with Common Core-related skills in math and language arts, NGSS concepts in science and engineering practices, and broader STEM and STEAM objectives such as problem-solving, spatial reasoning, collaboration, and design thinking. ESA & Scholarship Eligibility
Which states do you work with to accept funds for special education and special needs programs?
Superspace works with families and organizations across many states that offer funding programs for special education and special needs support. Requirements and approved programs vary by state. Some programs require a doctor's note, therapist recommendation, or specific documentation to qualify, while others have broader eligibility criteria. Can I use EFA or ESA funds for Superspace?
Superspace is commonly eligible for purchase using Education Freedom Account (EFA) or Education Savings Account (ESA) funds when used for educational purposes. Eligibility and purchasing rules vary by state and program. Superspace can provide product documentation, invoices, or vendor information as needed to support your submission. Can Superspace be purchased with HSA or FSA funds?
Superspace may qualify as a therapeutic tool or developmental aid depending on your HSA or FSA plan guidelines and a supporting recommendation from a qualified therapist. Consulting with your plan administrator is recommended and product documentation can be provided upon request.

What is the Education Ambassador Program?
The Education Ambassador Program allows schools, clinics, libraries, and other organizations to earn a 10% commission on Superspace purchases made by families using your unique referral link or QR code, while also receiving a 10% discount on purchases made for your own classrooms or programs. All tracking and reporting is handled automatically through Shopify Collabs. Ambassadors agree to allow Superspace to feature their logo on the website as an official Education Ambassador.
How do the Ambassador Program discounts and commissions work?
Ambassadors receive two built-in benefits: a 10% discount on Superspace purchases made for your own classrooms, programs, or spaces, and a 10% commission on purchases made by families using your unique link or QR code. You can share your link via front-desk signage, in-person posters, events, newsletters, social media, or conversations with families. All tracking is handled automatically through Shopify Collabs.
How do I sign up for the Ambassador program?
Complete this form: https://forms.gle/4X5YoG8vsPWS6scK7to and tell Superspace about your organization. You will then receive an email invitation from craig@getsuperspace.com to join Shopify Collabs, the platform used to manage referral links and commissions. Once your account is active, your unique referral link and QR code are generated and marketing materials such as postcards, laminated sheets, and QR signage are produced and shipped to you.
Procurement & Vendor Registration
Can I get a copy of your W9?
Yes. A download link for the W9 is available on the Support page. If your organization requires additional forms to set up Superspace as a vendor, email john@getsuperspace.com with a list of any required documentation or a link to your portal application and the team will respond as soon as possible.
